Power of Parks Episode 1: Janet Young

Welcome to Power of Parks, a podcast produced by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department, where we share inspiring stories from people who have benefited from nature, parks and recreation.

Episode 1 features guest Janet Young, a resident of Palm Beach County and a student at Palm Beach State College. This year, what started as a simple project for her honors health class, turned into her writing and publishing an article in the Hippocrates Wellness Institute Magazine about the benefits of nature for students. The project also inspired her to transform the campus nature trail as a dedication to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting victims and to help students at Palm Beach State College de-stress and unwind.
